Shirt: YesStyle | Skirt: Comme Toi via Modcloth | Shoes: Em & Sprout

So this Wednesday I drove up to my hometown to talk to my co-blogger Alexa. She hasn’t been too active on the blog, but you will recognize her work on the logo and the drawings. We decided she should blog more, since she is a really cool cat. Which means I need to update a bunch of stuff since the blog is mostly info about me… and none of the “about” stuff was really finished anyways. Alexa and I talked about the blog, took photos of our cute outfits, which hopefully Alexa will post in a fashion post soon.

Let me just say I love this skirt from Modcloth. I’ve been wearing it a good bit to work since it is super cozy and has pockets. Pockets are something that prevents me from wearing skirts to work. If I want to listen to my ipod I sometimes having to tuck it into my skirt and undies- no friggin joke! And this shirt I pulled out of dresser and made me remember why I loved YesStyle. Yes, they have limited sizes and they have terrible returns, but they have great t-shirts. This one is not only cute, but the fit is really flattering.

Dress: Bea & Dot via Modcloth | Pin: thrifted gift | Tights: handme down | Shoes: Pink Studio via Modcloth

Can I first talk about this dress? Modcloth was having their Stylish Surprise sale, in which you specify your size, and they send a random article of clothing. For $10 you could get something that was $40 or $200. Of coarse you have little say in what you get. They do this to get rid of unsellable clothes that aren’t damaged but have been returned after being taken down from the site. In the past I have gotten this sailor dress, which I wear often, but isn’t something I loved (it’s just practical). I also got a cardigan which is snuggly, but no good for my overheated apartment. I still get excited and I get one article of clothing each time they have the sale. I keep hoping I will get one of the more expensive dresses.

This time I opened the box and saw the big beautiful Bea & Dot label. I knew I struck gold. This dress isn’t sold anymore by the label, but I still managed to find which dress it was- Technical Writer Dress. It is really amazing. The fabric is thick and great quality. The dress is lined and fitted with pockets. And my favorite part of the dress is that it has fake buttons in the front. As a chesty girl, I usually tug at my buttons try to avoid pulling. No need for this dress.

I wanted to wear this dress earlier but for whatever reason couldn’t until this weekend. It was the perfect weather to wear to the art museum to FINALLY see the Treasures of Korea exhibit.

Hat: Amazon | Jacket: thrifted at Pure Couture | Necklace: Modcloth | Dress: Folter via Modcloth | Tights: Target | Shoes: Dirty Laundry

This has been a crazy weekend. It started out that my friend Justine came to visit me for a concert at the Boot and Saddle to go see the band River City Extension. It was interesting crowd, one I was not use to. But they help feed the energy to the bands performance, which was pretty awesome anyways. If you notice River City Extension playing near you, I would recommend going to see them.

Halfway through the concert I get a call from my husband saying that his glasses broke. Which made the next day a whirlwind of “what to dos?” I do have to say it was the first time in awhile where I enjoyed myself since we didn’t have an actual agenda. And luckily since Jon’s glasses were easily fixed, it gave a lot of time to do what we wanted.

Hat: Vintage Gift | Shirt: Modcloth | Brooch: Vintage Gift | Skirt: American Apparel | Tights: Target | Shoes: Thrifted

I mentioned before that the past week have been super crazy. I work a lot of days at the restaurant so most of my outfits were based on which pants were clean and could get another grease stain. I wanted to dress up, but I still really can’t. My other job, at the moment, involves a lot of glue. Seriously? Why all the clothing hate guys?

Earrings: gift | Shirt: Fervour via Modcloth | Purse: Coach (thrifted gift) | Skirt: American Apparel | Shoes: Bumper via Modcloth

I had a wonderful but exhusting weekend. I am a huge Asian Pop fan. I have been listening to Chinese, Taiwanese, Korean and (mostly) Japanese pop and rock for years. One of my top favorite artists is Nakata Yasutaka. He never really releases music on his own, instead works in a duo called capsule, and composes music for lots of different artists. I love him because he not only just composes music, but lends his vision and image to the artist he creates music for.

Bow: Modcloth | Shirt: nümph | Blouse: H&M | Skirt: Modcloth | Shoes: Gift

I originally bought this skirt from Modcloth to try and wear it to an upcoming wedding. I wanted something to wear that would hide my tattoo. Not that I am trying to hide who I am, but I just feel like someone else’s wedding isn’t where I want to reveal my ink. Anyways, I love the skirt, though it doesn’t quite match the longer sleeved shirt I originally got it for. Oops.

Sweater: Mystery China Brand | Dress: Freeway via Modcloth | Tights: Target | Socks: H&M | Shoes: Frye Boots (hand-me downs)

As I wrote down all the clothing, I just noticed I own a lot of leather considering I don’t eat meat. All have been gifted, vintage, or hand-me downs. I guess I don’t like the idea that an animal died just to have it be thrown out. But I am glad to have such a stylish Mother-in-Law (who has the same shoe size), otherwise I wouldn’t get these great boots. They have been a lifesaver this winter.

Snow came down again, which made my walk to work really cold. Not to mention my work is back to it’s freezer status, which is the downside of older buildings. This sweater is super wonderful. I bought it for under $20 from some ebay site with low expectations. I just wanted something cute and warm. What I got was a fuzzy and warm sweater. I actually come home sweaty because it is so warm. And I as I write this I am sad that I didn’t take a photo of the back. As it has the same striping from the sleeves on the back, even with a little orange mixed in there.

I will hopefully have another great recipe to post tomorrow. And by recipe I mean just a cocktail. But hey, who doesn’t love a drink?

Headband: Smak Parlour | Shirt + Necklace: Little Pineneedle | Skirt: American Apparel

Awhile ago one of my favorite bloggers, Annika of The Pineneedle Collective, decided to sell some of her old clothes. They were super cheap so I bought a shirt and a dress. They arrived in great condition and with a little bonus necklace. Well, if you live in the USA (or read a blog that is in the USA) you’ve probably heard about the “polar vortex.” The temperature in New Jersey doesn’t really get down to 10 degrees (-12 celsius). Couple that with me working in building that was an old victorian post office that has no insulation, I have been wearing mostly sweatshirts and leggings.

Then the unspeakable happened- it got above freezing. I realized I could wear a cardigan at my job and not freeze! I grabbed my new shirt and paired it with my super old American Apparel skirt. I also added a cream cardigan (those photos didn’t come out), grey leggings, and shoes (which I didn’t put on since I had an hour before work).

I super recommend shopping at Annika’s Little Pineneedle Shop. Her clothes are in great condition. I didn’t even notice how old the shirt was that I bought- she wore in 2011! Okay that might not be the oldest, but hey, things are looking sad for some clothes that I’ve worn in less time. As for the dress I bought, it will probably sit in my closet until May. The fabric is super light. I guess that is what happens when you buy clothes from an Australian.

Hat: Eat Your Kimchi | Shirt: Blue Platypus | Dress: Ye Ol’ H&M | Tights: Hand me down | Shoes: Chelsea Crew

I’ve been a busy beaver today. I have been putting off launching this blog forever. I woke up and thought, I should really be productive. I did a bunch of cleaning around the house, and put together this cute outfit. I bought this wool dress from H&M years ago and it is a little bit confusing when to wear it. Today was perfect. Just enough comfort and warmth for inside the house.

In the process of taking my photo I learned fast that there is a skill to taking fashion photos. Well, I already knew this, but the reality of it set in. I am out of focus, but I will learn my lesson next time.
